Animals that we read in History....they do not exist ANYMORE!!!!

In pure Science, extinction means the end of an organism or of a group of organisms (taxon), normally a species. The extinction of an animal or its disappearance from the planet is usually related to the death of the last individual of that species.

Here are few amongst many of those.........

The one animal that tops the chart is a mammoth gigantic so dreadful and scary looking - Tyrannosaurus Rex. Seen dinosaurs....?? well no one has! But we have heard enough about dinosaurs and their extinction from the planet.

Tyrannosaurus Rex were same as dinosaurs….I suppose, no one could be as fearful as they were. So about Tyrannosaurus Rex – their fossils suggest that this most fearsome animal was approx. 40 ft. high and with a gigantic head affixed to body and jaws…..gosh…..I read they were as big as they could have eaten an adult man in one gnaw!!

Reason of Extinction – Records say that alike dinosaurs they too were killed off by a catastrophic event that possibly took away lives of many creatures on the planet at that time

Woolly mammoth were associated with ICE AGE. They were gargantuan bushy monsters with very very long tusks that were curled upward. It is believed that Woolly mammoth were one of several species that existing in North America, say about, 3 million years ago. Though mammoth, there were still amongst one of the smaller mammoth species of the world.

They are supposed to have died at the end of last ICE AGE approximately about 3 thousand years ago.

Around 500 million years back during Cambrian Period - Hallucigenia - existed. Cambrian period was an era of evolutionary experimentation when it is said that most of the major extinction group of animals first appeared with their bizarre looks and then disappeared.

Fossil fuel of Cambrian era found from an area known as – Burgess Shale – revealed the presence of a strange little arthropod called Hallucigenia

The creature was named after its body plan that had an elongated body with a row of tentacles on one side and filament of stilt like spines on the other.

Found in Indonesian cave in 2003 – Flores Man – were nicknamed “Hobbits”. These species made the researchers to rethink if they represented a distinct line of evolution of Home Sapiens. Fossils revealed that each of these man were 3 ft tall and had a tiny head. Debate amongst researches rages on – if these creatures represent a new species of hominid or are they form of advanced ape or because of some medical dysfunction they were dwarfs and represented a primitive human race???

The last of this profound creature appeared about 12 thousand years ago.

You love pets like dogs and cats….don’t you?? Well then meet this creature of nature you wold hate to meet even in the day light and the last one whom you would to be seen in dark alley – Saber Toothed Cat (also called saber-toothed tiger).

It’s extinction was around 10 thousand years ago. They lived in North America and part of Europe and one of the most dreadful predators that existed during Cenozoic Period.

Interesting, like we humans these creature had a social life…..I meant….alike us they lived together and co-operated each other to hunt down a prey with their dagger like canine teeth and powerful bodies. Researchers also found that they had a milieu in which one was cared by the other member of the group. Despite they horrible appearance, they had soft cat within too!!
